Luminous Landscape is without a doubt, one of the finest photography websites on the web. It features some excellent articles which cover the Art and Craft of Photography. Well worth a visit...

The Ansel Adams Gallery. Although this is a commercial site which features the work of what is undoubtedly one of the greats, it is well worth a visit to pick up some of his excellent technical books and your favourite photos.

Photo.box.sk. An excellent site which features photography, art, news and tips. It features info on, and images from, a huge selection of fine art photographers from all over the world.

 

Photo and Imaging News sites.

Digital Photography Review. Established by Phil Askey. It is one of the best digital photography resources on the Web. I use the site almost daily.

Digital Camera Resource Page. Started in late 1997 by Jeff Keller. DCResource features news & reviews of some of the latest technology.

Rob Galbraith Online. Rob, professional photo-journalist whos site covers professional digital SLR's and digital imaging products.

Fred Miranda has created some very useful tools for Digital Photographers. The Product Review forums are especially useful.

Imaging-Resource. Another excellent and informative site on digital photography and its associated technologies.

Steves Digicams. features up-to-date digital camera news and the latest reviews. It is a consumer and prosumer focused site.

123di.com Home of the "The 123 of Digital Imaging Interactive e-book" a must have for all Digital Photographers.

Digital Outback Photo, from Uwe Steinmueller is a specialised site covering outdoor photography using professional digital cameras.

NAPP is the leading resource for Adobe® Photoshop® education, training, and news. Photoshop User is their excellent magazine.


 

 

 

Photographers.

Howard Schatz. A professional photographer whose work I love because of the way he uses water and light in many of his amazing images...

Martin Evening. A photographer who specialises in creating high quality images for the Fashion industry and who is one of the leading Photoshop authors. His excellent book "Photoshop CS2 for Photographers" is well worth the read.

Charles Cramer. One of my favourite landscape photographers and a master of one of the most difficult photographic processes - The dye transfer print.

Robert Farber. A photographer who is famous for his artistic nudes, romantic imagery and commecial work. He has earned many fans with his award winning work.

Richard Avedon. A portrait photographer whose work has graced the pages of many a magazine and whose uncanny ability to capture his subjects made him the envy of many of his contemporaries.

Nude. St. Barthelemy 1989 by Demarchelier

Patrick Demarchelier. A beauty and fashion photographer whose wonderfully varied work includes some of my favourite images. Photographer of models, musicians, personalities and celebrities.

Mario Testino. Another of my favourites whose stunning and vivid portraits always impress.

Charlie Waite One of the masters of English Landscape Photography. His images capture the essence and the beauty of the british landscape. His book "Landscape: The Story of 50 Favourite Photographs" is one of my most browsed through books.

Eva Mueller, A photographer who specializes in cutting edge fashion, music and beauty photography.

Rankin is a photographer whose striking and cutting edge images are often seductive and powerful. He is also one of the team responsible for starting the irreverent and popular magazine, Dazed and Confused.


 

 

 

Artists.

Ashley Wood. An Australian artist and illustrator, whose work graces the pages of many cutting edge comics.

I have many of his artbooks and comics in my collection and he never fails to please.

Jeffrey Jones. my artist favourite from The Studio Group because the artistic themes echoe my passion for the historical and romantic in ART.

Rick Berry. An award winning artist whose illustrations have featured on the covers of many fantasy and science fiction novels and comics. His work can be found at his personal portal Rick Berry Studio and has been featured in and on books by Stephen King, William Gibson and Steve Perry.

Dave McKean is an illustrator, photographer, comic book artist, graphic designer, filmmaker and musician. His work incorporates drawing, painting, photography, found objects, digital art and sculpture, and quite often all at the same time. Quite remarkable.

Mike Mignola. One of my favourite comic artists and illustrators. His highly distinctive style sets him apart from most of his contemporaries. His creation Hellboy has propelled him to cultlike status. His success is well earned...

Drew Struzan. One of the foremost movie poster artists. His work has graced the promotional posters for Hellboy,Blade Runner, The Star Wars movies, Back to the Future, Harry Potter and The Indiana Jones movies.

Jason Brooks. A much emulated british illustrator whose very distinctive style has appeared on the covers of many a collection from the Hed Kandi music label.

Christopher Shy Another illustrator whose work I enjoy. His work has a very organic and luminous quality which is quite beautiful to look at and yet a little disturbing at the same time.

Bloc Media A multi-award winning digital creative agency. They specialise in youth oriented marketing and work with some of the biggest youth focussed brands in the world. Some Excellent Work...

2Advanced. One of the leading website and media agencies in the world. Their sites are always the talk of the online world.

Research Studios. founded in 1994 by Neville Brody and business partner Fwa Richards. They have since grown into one of the leading agencies in the world.


 

 

 

Communities

deviantART is an online artistic community that features many excellent and talented creatives. With a name like deviantART, you'd think it would be seriously warped in nature, and whilst there's an abundance of dark art there, it definitely has a much broader creative appeal.

flakphoto is a daily photoblog featuring distinctive photography. It promotes seeing the world in interesting ways and showcases quality photography.

Flickr. is one of the leading photo sharing communities. Owned by Yahoo it is no doubt one of the largest online services.

photo.net. Philip Greenspun set up this large and helpful community of photographers and enthusiasts. Featured images on this site are worth looking at.

Photography Directory by PhotoLinks

PhotoLinks is a free directory and portal service dedicated to providing easy access to as many photographic resources as possible. PhotoLinks was established in August 1997 to fill a void in the Internet photographic community for instant web site visibility and traffic.

RetouchPRO. A long running community which features forums, tutorials, challenges and galleries. It also has plenty of helpful users.

Webshots. An excellent photo sharing service for families and photo professionals.

Zuga.net is dedicated to photographic knowledge with serious photographers everywhere. It features discussion forums and hundreds of tutorials.
